One-on-one mentoring opportunities are available for veterans and their families through the Soldier On Pathways Program, this provides an opportunity for participants to openly discuss their goals and objectives when planning the next step in their career.
These sessions are about providing a supportive open collaboration between the participant and the allocated mentor to discuss their skills and experience and how best they can utilize these when planning their career.
Soldier On mentors can also assist with proof reading your CV and providing insight into you LinkedIn profile to assist in showing the best version of you when it comes to your career goals and how that aligns with your skills and experience.
Previous mentoring sessions have enabled participants to think about their passion and purpose when approaching their career transition, as well as to discuss possible pathways through upskilling and reskilling opportunities.
We asked one of the attendees at a recent Prep4Pathways event how did mentoring help you develop you career path?
“Initially prior to the pathways event Positioning, Passion & Purpose, I found myself feeling lost in the outback with no sense of direction. During the presentation and reflection on the notes received, I discovered that my passion can become my purpose therefore aligning myself to become positioned in the right direction which provides me with new ambitions and goals.” – Jason, Pathways Program Participant, VIC
