New Tasmania Interagency to support current and ex-Defence Force members.
A TASMANIAN Defence Interagency has been established as a way for current and ex-serving members of the Defence Force and their families to connect with likeminded people and organisations to find support.
A Defence and Veterans Services Show was held at the Glenorchy District Football Club on 11 May, where businesses and organisations from across Tasmania showcased their services and could network with each other.
The event was hosted by not-for-profit Soldier On and Defence Health.
The Defence and Veterans Services Show focused on building a network of people to provide support for current and ex-serving members of the Defence Force and their families.
Pathways Program Director, John Hardgrave said; “Soldier On’s Pathways team is collaborating with other serving and ex-serving Defence support organisations across Australia – to ensure a stronger network for the Defence and veteran community. Our Tasmanian team is taking part in regular Interagency events so everyone knows what Soldier On support services are available to them in Tasmania.”
Stallholders at the event included Defence Health, Soldier On, Rehab Management, Open Arms, Recklink, WISE Employment, Dowsing Point Community Centre, Buddy Up, Defence Special Needs Support Group, Studio Pilates, Women’s Veterans Association, Worksafe, APM NEIS, Mates4Mates, Regis Aged Care, Kameleon, Tafe, Business South Entrepreneur Facilitators, and RSL Tas.
The Tasmanian Defence Interagency plan to hold a meeting once a month for the newly – with the next one to be held in mid-June.
